Smiles

Smiles

Smiles brim with knowledge,
understanding and grace,
they feel for the universe,
while caught in loves embrace.

Infectious smiles of laughter,
beaming eyes of light,
held forever after,
our lanterns in the night.

Music is the pathway,
rhythms are the source,
smiling is the product,
of natures healing force.

About this Poem: A few words of healing for Leah Song of Rising Appalachia to wish her good health and a speedy recovery.

To smile is to unlock all the natures medicine

Cardinal Spirit

Cardinal Spirit

Cherry red, in snow covered tree,
Cardinal spirit visits me.

Social bird, sadly alone,
Perched in tree behind my home.

Winters mourning, with twilight’s birth,
In cold he sings, all puffed in girth.

Throughout the day, he bides his time,
expectant wait, for song in rhyme.

Conscious whispers, find my ears,
from father gone, so many years.

Visit your mother, was his plea,
Empathic feelings, whispered to me.

Never knowing what life brings,
I visit mother, with heartfelt things.

Arriving early, mid afternoon,
surprised to find emotions strewn.

Her spirit appeared so far away,
Though a pleasant time we had that day.

With tears in eyes, yet very caring,
though why she cried, she was not sharing.

Ninety years old, tired and alone,
All she wanted, was to go back home.

Empathic nod, I understood,
as memories flood from childhood.

Our visit ended, we said goodbye,
She smiled at me with tear in eye.

Arriving home, deep in thought,
I watch the birds, and Cardinals spot.

He flies to me, on window’s bay,
The song he sings, soothes my day.

The evening reigns, his vibrant sound,
Chasing blues and sorrows crowned.

When sunset casts its evening shroud,
Cardinal sings, return is vowed.

Night brings sleep to weary eyes,
Old dreams pass, with greying skies.

At three AM, I’m suddenly roused,
It’s chateau place, where mum is housed.

The news is sad…mum passed away.
I reflect on time we spent that day.

Pain and sorrow bites with grief,
My systems flush with no relief.

Mourning gathers, Cardinals return,
on window sill, emotions churn.

Eyes meet mine, understanding fate,
for there behind, his new found mate.

She hops to window, looks inside,
Chirping brightly, old soul and bride.

Together they sing a hopeful song,
bestowing strength, to keep me strong.

At that moment, memory recalls,
the story she told me at Twin Falls.

The spirits of loved ones will visit you,
and appear as Cardinals, to see you through.

Reflection of Heaven

Reflection of Heaven

Reflection of heaven, mirror of souls,
Umbral hue, and magnetic poles.

Sky cloned seas, morning wonder,
Essence in awe, emotions asunder.

Bereaving blues and blacks a sway,
Gold and orange cover the bay.

Chameleon sunrise, coloured shrouds,
Weeping spirits, commanding clouds.

Natural wonder, rides the dawn,
Twilight moments, captured, gone.

Dreams and Visions

Dreams and Visions

Subconscious bathed in reticence,
complexity commanding form,
dominion of dreams and nightmares,
in captured moments of the storm.

Morning Walk

Morning Walk

Daylight dawns my morning walk, uplifting silence heard,
peaceful moments I embrace, with animal, tree n’ bird.

Country life in harmony, pleasant heartful tether,
where consciousness gathers all, brings it all together.

Paths I’ve traveled, ones less taken, brought me here today,
mistakes have made me wiser as karma had its say.

I’m well at hand and hidden, ascending older years,
for all my past is gathered, resolved, and without fears.

My spirit reborn, has risen, ego holds no reigns,
imprisoned mind no longer, nor weighed down by its chains.

As time unfolds before me, I know from right and wrong,
standing on foundations, understanding keeps me strong.

I walk on my good morning, my thoughts surrounding me,
ready for the days ahead, with light that helps me see.

The Forest of Dreams in Consciousness

The Forest of Dreams in Consciousness

In forest dreams and consciousness,
the universe unfolds,
along bright stairways of knowledge,
where storied truths are told.

Each level a grand finally,
each step a secret place,
the road to your awakening,
awaits for your embrace.

It begins with Psilocybin,
mushrooms portal flowers,
expanding soul and consciousness,
mind that it empowers.

Your awareness exponential,
as mind becomes awake,
in natures room a catalyst,
to see that which is fake.

Hooded beacons await you there,
sentinels for each stride,
so do not be afraid of them,
they’re there to be your guide.

Just follow your intuition,
it’s what connects your soul,
a part of forest essence,
and that which makes you whole.

Dig deep the dazzling wonders,
where light unfolds for you,
a universe of consciousness,
with forests to go through.

About this Poem: The poem, “The Forest of Dreams in Consciousness” was inspired by the Deviant Art Photo above that was found in a poetry contest on AP. It was first written in couplet form (rough draft) but I have now edited the poem to rhyming stanza form to smooth out the flow.

Terence McKenna clearly came to my mind when I saw the photo. I think he would have approved of this poem. He was a great explorer of human consciousness and the realms within that connect us to the universe. The poem is also a confirmation of my own experience with mushrooms when I was 19.

Our Little Miracle

Our Little Miracle

Spring arrived early that year, in our little village of Rome,
as migration came much sooner, and livened up our home,
Life worked out a miracle, after the doctors we did phone,
and our family tree grew bigger, the couple no longer alone.

Just out back in our garden, where the family oak tree stood,
was a wicker basket carriage, with a white frilly hood.
There inside smiling, was our pride, and next generation,
our newborn baby girl, who would inherit our plantation.

My wife and I stood there, our arms around each other,
Smiling at our little one, who looked just like her mother.
If only dad were still with us, your mum, and father too,
We could take a family picture, while the flowers are in bloom.

The morning mist was lifting, as the birds were in full song,
they gathered in the trees above as more birds joined along.
Then landing on the carriage sides, two sparrows began to play,
their chirping brought more laughter, and chased the morning grey.

The clouds dissolved and parted, as the sun shone down its rays,
and there above the carriage, was a glow that seemed to stay.
Our little girl was looking up, something made her smile,
as if someone were standing there, talking to her a while.

I grabbed my little camera, took a picture of the beautiful sight,
I swear we saw three figures, winged, and filled with light.
And just as quick they vanished, as the clouds returned the shade,
But deep inside, my wife and I, knew who came that day.

You Have Awakened

 You Have Awakened

If one is truly able to awaken from the illusions of their modern day captivity, they will automatically see both the beauty and the ugliness of the World and will choose to live out the rest of their time here on this planet in spiritual harmony before travelling onto the next realm of consciousness.

Embrace the moments

Embrace the Moments

Embrace the moments that capture your essence and unites you with your surroundings, for indeed these astonishments connect you to a greater consciousness with a reminder that your short stay here on earth is just part of a much greater journey.

I Still Dream

I Still Dream

If dreams came true I would not be a failure at everything I do…
Yet still I dream,
Even though my eyes and ears are covered in labels by people that don’t believe in me…
I can still see…
I can still see the beauty in front of me…
Even though I endure the anguish of others,
the disappointment of mothers,
the condemnation of sisters and brothers,
I still see…
Even when I am laughed at by people immersed in systemic illusions fed by greed,
I still dream of a better world…
I still dream that one day there will be something I do that will blossom and grow…
I still dream,
I thought you should know...
