Extinction

Extinction

What becomes of humanity?

…When the planning for war takes precedence over the caring of our children…

Where are human values?

…When it is more important to save a corporation from bankruptcy than it is to save a community from corporate greed…

What becomes of the human soul?

…When authoritarian conditioning replaces empathic reasoning, moral principals and common sense…

Where lays humanity’s future?

…When we surrender our spiritual being to the voracious animal that lies within…
-------------------------------
The Activist Poet

About this Expression:

Today people have been conditioned to accept the words and position of their authority figures instead of moral principals and common sense. Mankind has been enslaved by a sociopathic few. Yet it is entirely humanities fault for allowing the atrocities that have befallen the world to happen…because we have freely given our power and our trust to a soulless private banking and corporate meme who’s sole objective is to seek profit for themselves by whatever means necessary.

The corporate beast does not follow moral guidelines. It’s focused on only one thing, their bottom line. Decisions are made based on economics as corporations do not adhere to any moral principals…Its sole objective is profit, and the driver of it, is greed…

Once, there was a time when our communities were protected from predators. Our own human commitments to each other through organization and strength were based on a code of ethics and moral standing which was applied by common sense and empathy. These were the ruling guidelines that bonded all of us.

The natural laws given to us by our existence belong to all…and so our existence is due to the strength of our community. These facts are what allowed us to survive a millennium of constant upheaval.

Yet now in the age of corporate control, people who practice a return to the moral values of giving and sharing with each other, have been outlawed by the sociopathic few who control society with a corporate iron fist. They are monsters who write history in their ugly image while hypnotizing the masses with greedy illusions…

If humanity wakes up, it just might be too late as we are now facing our own extinction…

Cardinal Spirit

Cardinal Spirit

Cherry red, in snow covered tree,
Cardinal spirit visits me.

Social bird, sadly alone,
Perched in tree behind my home.

Winters mourning, with twilight’s birth,
In cold he sings, all puffed in girth.

Throughout the day, he bides his time,
expectant wait, for song in rhyme.

Conscious whispers, find my ears,
from father gone, so many years.

Visit your mother, was his plea,
Empathic feelings, whispered to me.

Never knowing what life brings,
I visit mother, with heartfelt things.

Arriving early, mid afternoon,
surprised to find emotions strewn.

Her spirit appeared so far away,
Though a pleasant time we had that day.

With tears in eyes, yet very caring,
though why she cried, she was not sharing.

Ninety years old, tired and alone,
All she wanted, was to go back home.

Empathic nod, I understood,
as memories flood from childhood.

Our visit ended, we said goodbye,
She smiled at me with tear in eye.

Arriving home, deep in thought,
I watch the birds, and Cardinals spot.

He flies to me, on window’s bay,
The song he sings, soothes my day.

The evening reigns, his vibrant sound,
Chasing blues and sorrows crowned.

When sunset casts its evening shroud,
Cardinal sings, return is vowed.

Night brings sleep to weary eyes,
Old dreams pass, with greying skies.

At three AM, I’m suddenly roused,
It’s chateau place, where mum is housed.

The news is sad…mum passed away.
I reflect on time we spent that day.

Pain and sorrow bites with grief,
My systems flush with no relief.

Mourning gathers, Cardinals return,
on window sill, emotions churn.

Eyes meet mine, understanding fate,
for there behind, his new found mate.

She hops to window, looks inside,
Chirping brightly, old soul and bride.

Together they sing a hopeful song,
bestowing strength, to keep me strong.

At that moment, memory recalls,
the story she told me at Twin Falls.

The spirits of loved ones will visit you,
and appear as Cardinals, to see you through.
-------------------------------------------

About this Poem:

It is said that the spirit of a loved one comes to visit through the guise of a Cardinal. The Poem “Cardinal Spirit” is dedicated to my late mother and father.

Love is not a Waste of Time

Love is not a Waste of Time

Wagging tails and soulful eyes,
rising sun in morning skies,

Gibbous moon with its embrace,
a child’s giggle and smiling face,

The passing hours here with you,
all the things we had to do,

Patience with a heart of gold,
always mindful growing old,

Slower walks in memories made,
singing songs that never fade,

All within our life’s assent,
treasured moments, time well spent.

The Light of Life

The Light of Life

Life awakened
in captured time,
spirits brightly shone.

Tempus formed,
ego rose, battles raged,
I was alone…

Then you came,
removed my shell,
oh brilliant light!

The Fractal King Has Fallen

The Fractal King Has Fallen

Sad news finds the morning
our sovereign has passed away
despair ascends the spirit
my essence in disarray.

Welling fills despairing eyes
an aura of rain descends
memories fill a canvas
reflection of time and friends.

The fractal king has fallen
his brilliance passed to light
solemn grief is deafening
the memories very bright.

Inspirations lay silent
in rooms where a king was crowned
somber moods in the waiting hall
memories are filled with sound.

Waves of followers gather
red flushed with eternal grief
somber ocean filled with tears
paying tribute to their chief.

Bonds of empathic tether
union embracing his lead
remembrance here together
by his music we were freed.

Creative independence
a master in provision
we lift out from the darkness
embracing sound and vision.

Rest in Peace David Bowie
1947 Jan 08th – 2016 Jan 10th

About this Poem:

A big part of music is the magic that it creates as it connects us spiritually and socially with the past...the memories, stories, people, and the way it was back then, all comes racing back. Every song holds memories and contains a small piece of our time with each other here on Earth. All of these memories, that connect us to our youth returns with all the emotions, experiences, and vibrancy from the days we thought we would live forever...

Today we mourn the loss of someone who was a big part of our collective memories…all of us, on a personal conscious level, connected with him in thought…he is still there, and he will always be a part of you and me.

David Bowie changed the way the world thought about many things and defied a rigid establishment, leading the way by creative example. He was a creative pioneer that connected with humanity and pushed the envelope of creative independence…The best thing we can do in remembrance to David Bowie is to be ourselves, by expressing who we are through the Sound and Vision that defines us. Today a new journey begins…

Cellular Prison

Cellular Prison

Masses enveloped by microwaves,
eyes engaged, held asunder,
heads hung low, the soul enslaved,
by fear, the minds a plunder.

Visual programs running ads,
corporate gains for profit,
goading markets to the fools,
addicted, they can’t stop it.

Connect your cell to the grid,
all your data held in hand,
from birth to death and in between,
they know your whole lifespan.

Malefactor system,
brimming with extortion,
exacting payments for your time,
more for larger portion.

Personal relations bought the farm,
well of souls run dry,
human life stuck in prison,
it’s meaning passes by.

Evolve

Evolve

If mankind is going to evolve, we must overcome and discard our inherent animal instincts by reaching for the higher spiritual being contained within the life spark that defines our connection to the universe.

Reflections of a Man

Reflections of a Man

Thoughts reflect in the mirror as I search for yesterday,
only to find the blurred vision of an old man who once stood as Hercules.

Young, strong, proud, defiant!
A youth who thought he would live forever,
A man built on solid foundations,
So flawless...

Eyes clearly met, with reserved anxiety, by the only one who really knows me…
Staring back, on guard was the frail consciousness of a graying man,
petrified of facing his reflection, for the image looks back with the guilt of experience and the time deepened scars etched on his brow as a reminder of the errors committed from his past.

Ego would not drop its defenses in the reflection staring intently back.

Who are you to stand there so defiant as if in judgement of me,
when I have made amends for the sins I had committed from my own defective flaws and arrogance…You are just as guilty as I, even though you never apologized when looking at me straight in the eyes.

You never forgave me my sins…
Yet, I stand here in front of you, hoping to make amends and put this rift behind us.
Why do you just stare back with echoed conversations in reflection?
Haunting thoughts that go round and round in my mind,
unforgiven,
unforgiven,
unforgiven,
forgive me…

Answered Prayers

Answered Prayers

Unheard voices bring the night, our hopes return the day,
beings struggle for the light, in prayers we often say,

“Hear me oh most gracious one, I lift my heart to you,
I need you in these times of woe, a sign to guide me through.”

Empathy whispers, aglow within, candle flickers in the dark,
Prayers are thrust from the rain, while lost here on earth’s ark.

Close your eyes and listen, replies appear in your sight,
truth comes with your answer, connections made by light.

Darkness wanes, the oceans true, the skies return their song,
No longer lost, your path in view, new sense that you belong.

Penumbra’s Gate

Penumbra’s Gate

Portals to infinity
so often unseen by most
catch the sorrows of my eyes
ponder my reflected ghost.

Shadows dark retreat in thought
to hypnotic moments, wait
for there in pools on cobble
the frame of Penumbra’s Gate.

It’s beacon calls attention
bending thoughts, to enter minds
hypnotic waves of darkness
that render victims’ blind.

My legs give way, fall to ground
no power to up and rise
that’s when they came to take me
pull me to the other side.

Yet, fear then drew more swiftly
it gathered me to my feet
as courage stood defiant
on Penumbra’s cobbled street.

Twilight imbues the crossing
as puddles dry and fade
uncertain of my bearings
or where my feet have strayed.

Streets are unfamiliar
with malefic atmosphere
demonic laughs from shadows
in voids all wrought with fear.

Frantic, I then start searching
for puddles that hold a door
the gate that pulled me in here
which I can see no more.

But then appears a lamppost
same beacon that drew me in
the scene, just one last puddle
reflects to where I’ve been.

To dash and cross on over
before its darkness expands
and drains the mirror puddle
to ensnare me with its hands.

Lunging forward to the ground
in speculum, eyes are fixed
to pull me through umbra’s door
where two worlds have surely mixed.

In a flash, the weight is gone
no darkness upon my back
from place where I just travelled
the puddle returns to black.

Pensive face checks out the scape
as I climb back to my feet
to see familiar buildings
upon my cobbled street.

The Forest of Dreams in Consciousness

The Forest of Dreams in Consciousness

In forest dreams and consciousness,
the universe unfolds,
along bright stairways of knowledge,
where storied truths are told.

Each level a grand finally,
each step a secret place,
the road to your awakening,
awaits for your embrace.

It begins with Psilocybin,
mushrooms portal flowers,
expanding soul and consciousness,
mind that it empowers.

Your awareness exponential,
as mind becomes awake,
in natures room a catalyst,
to see that which is fake.

Hooded beacons await you there,
sentinels for each stride,
so do not be afraid of them,
they’re there to be your guide.

Just follow your intuition,
it’s what connects your soul,
a part of forest essence,
and that which makes you whole.

Dig deep the dazzling wonders,
where light unfolds for you,
a universe of consciousness,
with forests to go through.

About this Poem: The poem, “The Forest of Dreams in Consciousness” was inspired by the Deviant Art Photo above that was found in a poetry contest on AP. It was first written in couplet form (rough draft) but I have now edited the poem to rhyming stanza form to smooth out the flow.

Terence McKenna clearly came to my mind when I saw the photo. I think he would have approved of this poem. He was a great explorer of human consciousness and the realms within that connect us to the universe. The poem is also a confirmation of my own experience with mushrooms when I was 19.

Our Little Miracle

Our Little Miracle

Spring arrived early that year, in our little village of Rome,
as migration came much sooner, and livened up our home,
Life worked out a miracle, after the doctors we did phone,
and our family tree grew bigger, the couple no longer alone.

Just out back in our garden, where the family oak tree stood,
was a wicker basket carriage, with a white frilly hood.
There inside smiling, was our pride, and next generation,
our newborn baby girl, who would inherit our plantation.

My wife and I stood there, our arms around each other,
Smiling at our little one, who looked just like her mother.
If only dad were still with us, your mum, and father too,
We could take a family picture, while the flowers are in bloom.

The morning mist was lifting, as the birds were in full song,
they gathered in the trees above as more birds joined along.
Then landing on the carriage sides, two sparrows began to play,
their chirping brought more laughter, and chased the morning grey.

The clouds dissolved and parted, as the sun shone down its rays,
and there above the carriage, was a glow that seemed to stay.
Our little girl was looking up, something made her smile,
as if someone were standing there, talking to her a while.

I grabbed my little camera, took a picture of the beautiful sight,
I swear we saw three figures, winged, and filled with light.
And just as quick they vanished, as the clouds returned the shade,
But deep inside, my wife and I, knew who came that day.

Valleys

Valleys

The last days of summer, descend uneasy skies,
merging mountain and valley beyond in twilight.
Crimson nebulous shrouds give promise of return,
as warmth embraces my soul, and says goodbye.

Thoughts grace reflection as mirrors looking back,
engaging heartfelt moments and happier times.
All appears as yesterday, some moments forever,
these treasures locked away from long ago.

Faded smiles return, with longing thoughts of home,
travelling to scenes in old black and whites,
they play on my mind and nourish my soul.
Essence flickers recognition from guarded reaches,
filling a melancholy heart with happiness.

Cherished friends no longer here,
family come back to life,
now bathed in empathy and protected,
where time never ends,
We embrace our moments together once again.

Autumn has arrived, and in brilliant colour,
trees rain their creative souls upon the ground.
A mosaic of splendour and abundance,
freely given as an offering to the essence of nature.
Benediction and thanks for granting substance and life,
but leaving its soul exposed to harsh elements.

A dusting of thoughts engage brilliant seasons,
where conscious smiles forever shining, gaze.
We once painted infinity with laughter and song,
a montage of energy in the celebration of being,
heard and recorded by time and moments made,
to play here, in the valleys of radiant memory.

The sun now falls and sets on autumn skies,
winter arrives, cold with life’s sacrifice,
when tree’s nod off to sleep on seasons ending.
Natures guardians stand firm and strong to the elements,
defiant, proud and upright with deep roots to life,
they vow to reawaken with springs rebirth.

I nod my agreement with noble promise, well made,
and pledge my covenant of remembrance,
to those that hold my conscious spirit,
returning back to times before, I gladly affirm.

When the last sun goes down, in the winter’s eve of my life,
we will again meet, in those treasured moments,
to repaint valley skies with our spirit and essence,
together once again, we will be home.

Estuary of Life

Estuary of Life

Mist swells in perfect reflection on estuary's mirror,
held in place by the chill of the air.

Dawn peaks on the horizon,
its rays held back by rising fog.
Thrilled sounds of the geese are heard making ready,
as they offer their prayers to god above.
Echoes from the forest join their hymn,
as all make ready to greet a nebulous morning sky.

Excitement builds to hushed thunder,
by the beat of ten thousand wings,
in reply to the silence,
and a new song lifts into the air.

Hearts racing, beating faster in joy and jubilation,
they carry my spirit in tow,
raising me up with them in celebration of life,
a oneness with the universe,

and the river of life goes ever on.

Music brings image and emotion together in ones mind and as I reflect on the brilliant piece of music by Dirk Maasson “The River” I’m reminded of the Estuary of Life and the magic nature holds.

Vision of Beauty

Adolphe Étienne Piot (1850-1910), Femme dans un manteau (1871),
Oil on canvas, 40 x 52 cm. Via Sotheby’s.

Vision of Beauty

A vision of beauty imprisons me,
I'm overwhelmed by an empathic soul.
I must move in for a closer look,
this viewing that makes me whole.

And there my gaze unfurls,
at the painting on the wall.
Impressions of a lonely girl
Hooded with a shawl.

A smile content with ruby lips,
eyes serene and open.
With hands in clasp, thoughts do slip,
her heart no longer broken.

Compassionate feelings plain in view,
expressed by her caring thoughts.
Imprints on my mind a new,
no longer am I fraught.

Happiness abounds unfolding,
from eyes without despair.
A vision so bright and beholding,
this girl before me in prayer.

Portrait of Immortal Vision,
so misty eyed and clear of mind.
The artist captured your decision,
and the inner peace that you did find.

I must come back to have a look,
at the lonely girl on the wall,
Her tender smile fills my book,
when I visit the museum hall.

The Spiral of life

A Poem that expresses life

The Spiral of life

Life is truly a budding flower,
from moments first form,
to blossom and bloom,
retreating only once,
to wither and bow graciously,
returning to, from which it came.

Time repeats a garden of flowers,
in meadows, a symphony.
They dance with sun and moonlit skies,
and crest beneath the stars,
for the spiral repeats in everything

Life is truly a baby born,
from moments taken by eyes engaged,
to blossom and bloom,
retreating, only once,
to grow old and bow graciously,
returning to, from which it came.

Time repeats the budding soul,
in family trees, a symphony.
They dance with sun and moonlit skies,
and crest beneath the stars,
for the spiral repeats in everything…

In Living Moments

In Living Moments

Peaceful thoughts descend on me,
from a time so long ago,
flowing from the well of life,
that carries my heart and soul.

Thoughts imbued with energy,
from the days that passed us by,
in days we lived forever,
when empathy touched the sky.

We sang then of our dealings,
the good things that we’d do,
by acting on our feelings,
to build the world anew.

A world so full and living,
inspirations made of life,
empathic souls so giving,
influence without the strife.

Slowly time’s consumed us all,
and left our oaths forsaken,
trapped in forests blind and dense,
with hopes they reawaken.

Chance has surely rolled on by,
responsibilities past,
pulling down our different roads,
the distance long and vast.

Life is moving quicker now,
out of phase with everything,
lost in a maze of anyhow,
and tied to tangent things.

Wish I had a time machine,
to take me to the past,
when spoken words had meaning,
and everything made to last.

In Tranquil Moments, the Learning Begins

In Tranquil Moments, the Learning Begins

Cardinals greet the morning,
embrace a stirring sigh,
and sing aurora’s colors,
that splash across the sky.

Empaths wake in tether,
from hamlets still unknown,
sending reassurance,
to prove you’re not alone.

Fired skies expanding,
awareness comes to life,
soothing in a heartbeat,
to take away the strife.

Poetic words are gathered,
by essence filled with light,
holding eyes in wonder,
restoring inner sight.
