Cycles Come and Cycles Go

Oh, can you hear them calling?

voices, rhythms, they grab hold,

they rise within a heartbeat,

from forgotten days of old.

Awake, these champions rise,

confront misguided reasons,

in thoughts of light and darkness,

on cusps of fading seasons.

Cycles come and cycles go,

moving fast and moving slow,

minds are open, when you mend,

all’s revealed at the end.

Purpose wrapped in shrouds of dusk,

held by scarves of brilliant light,

moving fast, unfolding years,

bold perceptions bringing sight.

Shining eyes through hooded cloaks,

determined in defiance,

stern expressions hold the line,

held firm by non-compliance.

Cycles come and cycles go,

moving fast and moving slow,

minds are open, when you mend,

all’s revealed at the end.

Above the crimson shadows,

where enlightened whispers flow,

empathic streams of healing,

against the madness, glow.

Aire surrounds, thick with vision,

our prophetic thoughts are forged,

replacing voids of the mind,

where warnings were twice ignored.

Cycles come and cycles go,

Audacious, bold and fearless,

in confidence, promise made,

declarations long before,

in histories that do fade.

Hubris plays with apathy,

glaring flaws of stitched up men,

never see the eschaton,

that spells their mortal end.

Empires of the ages,

once consumed, they leave no trace,

while old ones fade to shadows,

new beginnings take their place.

About this Poem: “Cycles Come and Cycles Go” has been rewritten from its 2014 original form to better express the content that comes from three distinct influences on me. The first is a song called “The Wicker Man” by musician “Damh the Bard” that connects to a pagan harvest ritual. The second influence is by investigative journalist Michael Ruppert and his writings on societal “Collapse” brought on by peak oil. The third influence is by investigative journalist “Graham Hancock” and his writings on ancient history, spiritual connection and consciousness. A plethora of ideas are well documented and expressed in Graham’s trilogy of books, “Fingerprints of the Gods”, “Magicians of the Gods” and “America Before: The key to Earth’s Lost Civilization”…

And of course, there is my own spiritual awakening and experience with consciousness that ties into all three.

Cycles Come and Cycles Go speaks of the conscious connection to ancient civilizations, the collapse of our current civilization and the awakening to old spiritual connections to the gods, the universe and mother earth.

The Wicker Man is a pagan harvest ritual where people gather together, build a giant man made of branches and burn him as a community offering to the old gods in thanks for the bountiful harvest that will carry them through the winter. It is a spiritual ritual with a conscious connection to nature, the gods and the universe.
