Lights, Camera, Action

When everyone’s at the top of their game

for project of worth and not for the fame

concentration, and professional cast

bring forth a picture that’s meant to last.

Actors, stage hands camera men and grip

directors, producers and the writers of script

the music and lighting, props and design

goals do exceed when all do align.

The setting begins in black and white,

with shadow of bars on window of light

smoke then rises as the camera pans low

to a table and chairs on prisoner’s row.

Pans to a face for the viewers apprise

there’s a worried look in his distant eyes,

with echoed voices just outside the room,

his cigarette burns in a greyish plume.

The door then opens, detective’s step through,

content with their options and what they’ll do,

the questions begin with where he had been,

“and don’t lie to us cause you had been seen.”

The scene then moves too a place in his mind,

where an intimate smile’s clearly outlined,

the scenes in color with joy in the air

vision of beauty with long auburn hair.

“You will talk to us” cop comes into view,

slamming his fist down between the two

prisoner stays quiet, goes back to his dream

to unfold the story in next group of scenes.
